Running with a Cold

running with a cold

I don’t feel too good

I don’t feel very well!

I’m sweaty and shaky.

And yet I feel a run is long overdue.

Thank you son, for sharing your germs with me

My youngest son got sick last week, and of course he passed his germs on to me. There’s only so much time you can spend in the company of someone who’s coughing his lungs out, till you yourself become the coughee.

So when I woke up on Saturday morning, my throat feeling like someone stuck a hundred razor bleeds in there, I knew: ‘They got me!’ They being the germs.

Since then I’ve made a speedy recovery, all the while thinking: ‘I don’t like this. I don’t want to miss so many runs.’

So the first day I felt a bit of alright, I put on my running shoes and ran out the door. But it did nót feel good. I felt weak and trembling.

I suppose I have to give my body a little more time to recover.

How do you cope with running and bad colds?
