Every Sunday I do my long run. In my case this means about 2,5 hours of running, interspersed with a nice cup of coffee in a restaurant. Because I plan my long runs around nice restaurants. A restaurant as my destination is a good reason to keep on running. And what can I say: I just love to have my coffee, and drink it too!
Sometimes when I start out on my Sunday long run, I feel antsy and hasty. I’ve got this hurried feeling. But then I remind myself: ‘It doesn’t matter how long it takes me, as long as I get there! Even if it takes me all day, who cares? I’ll still have gone the distance.’
That realization, the knowing I’ve got all the time in the world, offers me a wonderful sense of freedom.
My long runs on Sunday are pure freedom!
