Round Engagement Ring Eye Candy: It’s All in The Details

You know, I once was a girl who dreamed endlessly about my very own 3 carat Tiffany 6 prong solitaire. Of course myriad other engagement ring styles have caught my attention and captured my heart since then, but my point is, I started out with the classics. Then I got more…eclectic? Eccentric? Regardless, the simplicity of that Tiffany ring still speaks to me, but it’s the details of an engagement ring that have me saying “Tell me more.” For instance, I didn’t know then that I loved the knife-edge platinum setting, the way that the 6 prongs seemed more balanced than 4, or that the spare gallery of the mounting let the maximum amount of light in. I also didn’t know jacks**t about the 4 C’s, or Tiffany’s favorite 5th C – cost. But I digress. For every woman, the diamond might catch her eye first, but it’s the details of an engagement ring that make her fall in love. With the ring, I hope. She should already be in love with her intended. So today, it’s all about the nitty-gritty, and those small but endlessly effective details. And you know, he buys ridiculously amazing rings from our clientele on the daily. There’s a lot of rings to choose from – so when your breath is taken away by the beautiful details of these babies, just know they’re the chosen few of many, many gorgeous rings.

This beauty is featured on RLJ’s Facebook page today and I’m mildly obsessed. First, allow me to direct your attention to the D color VVS2 clarity center stone. It clocks in at 1.01 carats, so it’s more than qualified to be a solitaire, but it gets an assist anyway from the .24ctw of extra round brilliants mounted into the side of the setting. I love how the bezel set stones look like bubbles, and I super love that they’re graduated so the largest accent diamonds are near the gallery, making the ring comfortable to wear.
Can you say milgrain? Those infatuated with the added texture and vintage look this jewelry technique lends will love this beautiful antique-inspired engagement ring. Face up, this 1.06 carat ring is milgrain errythang, from the border on the shanks to the bezel set accent diamonds. I love how unique this look is, you expect to see channel set diamonds in this style, but the bezel around the graduated round brilliants look modern and fresh in this setting. From the side, the diamonds don’t stop. This ring has an additional .78ctw in diamonds on its mounting, and the sides sparkle from every angle. They go half way around the ring (budget saver!) before trailing into an ivy-inspired engraving.
Another vintage style engagement ring, this one shows you how to stretch your budget for more carat weight (aka bigger bling). It’s a K color, VS1 clarity, so it isn’t completely colorless, but you’re not paying that D color premium. And unless you hold it next to the lovely D colored diamond above, you won’t be able to tell. And, that gorgeous clarity grade means you aren’t sacrificing sparkle. This one features a double row of milgrain holding .49ctw of channel set round brilliant diamonds. And on the side of the ring you can see the beautiful floral engraving in 14kt white gold.

Last but certainly not least, we have another GIA certified D color VVS2 clarity round brilliant! This one weighs 1.13 carats and I could stare into it for days, it’s that good. But the gorgeous setting won’t let me! Two “leaves” of textured white gold flank the center stone and hold round brilliant diamond accents. Once you turn this ring to the side you can see the stacked rows of micropave playing best supporting diamonds to the main diamond, totaling .20ctw!
