Rooftop Gardens

By Vsudarsan

A beautiful garden is a work of heart. It takes planning, research, and dedication to create such a garden. And, it does not happen overnight. As Audrey Hepburn quotes - "To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.". We have always enjoyed lush landscapes and colorful flowers on the ground, but, to experience the same on a rooftop can be an out of the world experience! Scroll down, and try visualizing yourself in these rooftop gardens.

Rooftop gardens are just not beautiful but they are good for nature and humankind. It's created in space that would otherwise go unutilized. The blue sky might seem a bit closer in these private sanctuaries. These gardens might have more privacy and in some cases, only the owners might have access to these spaces. The building below will most likely be cooler and the air around will be healthier.

There are also problems to deal with when it comes to maintaining rooftop gardens. The roof needs to be built to handle the weight of the planters, soil, and the plants otherwise it might just collapse. Roof gardens require a flat roof - which will not drain rain water like sloping roofs. High winds can blow your plants and that could be a huge issue as well.

You might want to consider the pros and cons well before designing a rooftop garden. And, in most places you would actually need a permit and special inspections before growing plants on your roof. Well, enjoy what I have here for you and leave me a comment how you feel about these spaces.
