Murphy is back and the action has not stopped. In RoboCop from Boom! Studios we get an ongoing series right in the heart of the of the 1980′s world. In this initial issue, a man named Killian was released from jail to find out that there is a RoboCop ruining the fun on the streets of Detroit. His plan is to take him out. We know that isn’t going to be an easy task. We see Murphy do some major damage on a weapons sting gone haywire. Now three months later, the city want to gather up all the guns on the streets that aren’t registered to try to rid the city of some crime. RoboCop and his partner Anne are put in charge with the help of some community leaders. The citizen liaison might make this new initiative a bit more interesting.
How I loved RoboCop when I was younger. I thought that original movie was so great. I wanted his pistol and thought it was so cool how it came out of his leg. Seeing the book come out made me instantly pick it up and read it. The style fits perfectly in the 80′s era and feels like a perfect tie in to the movie. If you enjoyed the original RoboCop at all or are a fan of crime and corruption stories, check out this first issue and see if it draws you in like it did for me. I was looking for a new ongoing series and this might just be it.
