2013 seemed to be the year of lip products for me as I fell in love with lipsticks, crayons, glosses and balms galore, so I was very happy when I was asked if I'd like to try this new lip crayon and gloss duo from RMK. RMK is a leading makeup and skincare brand in Japan which focuses on color and making your skin look healthier. I'm new to the brand although I've heard great things about their lip products in the past so this seemed like the perfect time to give something a go for myself. The RMK Crayon & Gloss Lips* is a new product that will soon be making its way to the Look Fantastic website and I'm happy to say that it has surprised me.
On one end of the duo there's a thin Lip Crayon and I have the shade Beige which initially had me worried as it's not something I'd normally wear. I tend to steer clear of browns as they don't suit my paler skin and this crayon is definitely more on the brown side of beige which I wasn't sure about. I have to say that I wouldn't wear this lip crayon on its own as the color just doesn't suit me, but I've found that it does a great job of lining my lips as the color is a bit sheerer when applied and works well with my favorite nude lipsticks.

There's a tube of Gloss Lips in the shade Holographic Silver Pink on the other end of the duo, and this was the part that had me very excited when I opened the packaging. I'm not one for wearing much lip gloss as I prefer glossy lipsticks or balms, but this lip gloss has turned my makeup world upside down as it's just so pretty. The gloss is a very light pink (light enough that it could be classed as clear when it's on the lips) with gorgeous holographic shimmer throughout it which applies so smoothly. The visible glitter/shimmer inside a lip gloss can put me off as it sometimes reminds me of the glitter packed lip gloss I played around with when I was younger (anybody else with me on that?), but there's no need to worry about the shimmer in this gloss as it's very subtle on the lips. I love the angled applicator for this gloss as it makes the application so easy and I couldn't be happier with the formula of the gloss as it's not too sticky and leaves such a glossy finish on the lips. The magic really happens when you layer the lip gloss over the crayon as you're left with such a glossy nude lip that I can't get enough of.
I'm not sure when this Crayon & Gloss Lips duo will be coming to the Look Fantastic website but I have to say that it's really worth a try whenever it's available! Although I wasn't sure about the crayon shade initially, I've now found a way to make it work for me and I couldn't be more in love with the neutral & glossy lip that this product gives me for everyday wear.
