Year 2012 will see Bollywood Celebrities lining up to take the wedding vows and the first couple to take the vow is Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’souza.
After 8 long years of courtship, the couple finally tied the knot on February 3rd, 2012 amidst much fanfare. The marriage was conducted both in Maharashtrian and Catholic style.
Riteish and Genelia took their vows around a sacred fire at the suburban Grand Hyatt Hotel. The groom, wearing a white sherwani and a typical Maharashtrian headgear entered the hotel riding a white ghodi whereas the bride was draped in red and gold lehenga designed by Ritu Kumar.
The actor’s father and congress personality Vilasrao Deshmukh was dressed in a brown sherwani.
After the Maharashtrian wedding, the lover birds Riteish and Genelia solemnized their wedding according to the Catholic rituals at St. Anne’s Church in Mumbai.
The wedding reception was given at the same hotel (Grand Hyatt) on February 4th. Riteish was in black bandhgala while Genelia looked stunning in a dark peach lehenga with a draped dupatta and heavy gold emboirdery all over the outfit.
The function was attended by the bigwigs of bollywood, political and business world.
Sharad Pawar, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Subodh Kant Sahay and Johny Joseph were among the political figures present at the wedding.
