Rimmel Salon Pro 402 Urban Purple

Rimmel Salon Pro nail polishes are my absolute favourite, fact. Okay so maybe Essie is a very close second, but considering I have way more of these Rimmel ones than Essie, I think it’s fair to say these come up trumps. For some reason when I was writing this post I thought ‘oh I’ll link to other posts where I’ve reviewed one of them’…. and I have none! What on earth, I was sure I’d posted about every single one I own, but apparently not! I’m making it my mission to now post every single one, because the world should know how absolutely amazeballs these polishes are.

Retailling at £4.49 each the Rimmel Salon Pro polishes aren’t the cheapest on the market when it comes to high street polishes, but these are worth every penny. The formula is so good, it goes on lovely and doesn’t leave behind any pesky streaks that some thinner polishes can. You could probably get away with just one coat for most of the darker shades, including Urban Purple which I’m wearing above, but I always like to do two anyway just to be sure. The brush that they come with is amazing to, it’s so thick that you can do your whole nail in two strokes… probably one if you have thin nails, but my fat hands have fat fingers which have fat nails! What seals the deal for me though is the lasting power, I can get a good week out of these polishes before I decide they are too chipped for my liking, and that’s without a decent top coat. I do like to use a base coat though just to prevent staining, and the one I’m using at the minute is the Rimmel Nail Nurse one. To be honest I’m not fussy with base coats as long as they protect my nails.

Urban Purple is simply a gorgeous deep berry shade, and when I look at it I feel it leans more on the red/pink side of colours rather than purple. Basically, it looks exactly on your nails as it does in the bottle! I’m thinking I’ll just stop with trying to describe colours and let the photos do the talking, as let’s face it, I’m absolutely rubbish.

What’s your favorite nail polish brand? My wishlist is currently full of so many different shades, I’m obsessed at the minute!
