So let me just address the photo situation above… I’m actually wearing the product I’m reviewing, and showing you a closeup photo of it on me! I’m a changed woman. I said I was going to try my best to incorporate more photos of myself wearing products into my blog, and I’m really trying to stick with that. Note the eye bags in those wonderful photos of me, that is the real life of being a busy student around exam time. This ain’t no airbrushed magazine, this is reality and I have dark, baggy, tired eyes! Ok, I’m done.

I’ve had a couple of the Rimmel Apocalips lying around for a little while now, and I must admit they’ve taken a while to get used to. The shade above is Nova, a bright bubblegum pink that makes me feel a little barbie-ish when I wear it, but I actually love the color and think it’s the perfect shade for spring/summer. It’s the formula that was the part that took a while getting used to, I know liquid lipsticks have been popular for a while now but these were the first I tried and my little brain just couldn’t get it! The best way to describe the Apocalips is that they are like a super pigmented gloss, but a lot less sticky. I wouldn’t say this shade is fully opaque with one coat, but it’s enough to give a massive pop of color and I prefer just the one layer than trying to add more as this can make it go slightly streaky and just plain weird looking.

Nova isn’t massively long lasting on me, I’d say about 2-3 hours then I’m reapplying and less when eating or drinking, but I think the darker shades will last longer and almost act like a stain. You can see in the top photo that the applicator for these is pretty interesting, it’s got a little well in it that kind of catches a lot of the product like a puddle. I love that and it definitely makes applying it so easy! The only thing that might put you off the Rimmel Apocalips is the smell, as it is a bit odd and I can imagine a lot of people not liking it because of that. Overall though, pretty good! Would I buy any more? Probably not yet as I am too in love with other things sadly (Revlon Matte Balms I’m looking at you!)

You can get the Rimmel Apocalips at Boots and there are so many colours to choose from!

p.s don’t forget you can nominate me in the Cosmo Blog Awards under Best New Beauty Blog here, I’ll love you forever and bake you a cupcake if you do!
