The wait is over, the most hotly anticipated high street collection has now arrived at River Island stores this week. Rihanna’s collaboration with River Island has produced a collection that encapsulates the singer’s very own personal style, with trademark pieces such as cropped sweatshirts and denim shorts.
Rihanna said of her first collection: ” I designed every piece in the collection so I could wear it and I think my fans trust my style so they’ll have fun with it.”
With her distinct urban styling it’s no surprise that her first collection has a 1990s grunge meets street style feel. Varsity jackets and baseball caps teamed with neon brights and chunky lace-up shoe boots sum up the collection, with unmistakeable ‘Rihanna’ pieces like the denim dungaree crop top.
The singer had always expressed interest in designing her own line and chose River Island, and the UK, for a particular reason: “Britain has the most fashionable kids in the world. These kids inspired the high-end designers, they say what’s cool.”
