My Take on Revlon Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:

Revlon eye and lip makeup remover comes in a white colored tube packaging with a black flip top cap. The packaging is quite convenient to use and to carry around when you are going on a vacation where you have to use too much makeup and need something to remove your makeup at the end of the day so it is very travel friendly and does not reserve much space in your makeup bag. I carried this recently with me to my cousin sister’s marriage and it used to be so late in the night that I used to feel lazy to go to the washroom to wash my face and remove my makeup coz my maternal grandparent’s (nana-nani’s) house is so big that we have to literally go to the other end if we need something and I used to be dead tired attending all the functions that I didn’t want to go to the washroom to remove my makeup, I knew this would happen with me so I carried some cotton balls and this makeup remover along with me, I used to wipe off all my makeup with this remover, use some toner to remove any trace of makeup left, moisturize and go off to bed.

By the name of this remover, I thought that it’s just an eye and lip makeup remover but when I read the description of the product, I realized that it can be used all over the face to remove the entire makeup from face. So what could be better than this, I didn’t have to carry with me a different face makeup remover and eye & lip remover! It’s an all in one remover and can remove all types of makeup.

The texture of this remover is creamy, neither too thick nor too runny, just a medium consistency. I use it all over my face and it removes every trace of makeup in just a few swipes, for the eyes you need 3-4 gentle swipes with just a tiny amount of this remover on cotton ball and voila your makeup is all removed! For the liner above your lash line, you may need some extra swipes to actually get it off and the best part about this makeup remover is that it does not sting the eyes even if it gets into the eyes. I think this is because it is ophthalmologist tested and that makes sure that it can be used even by people with sensitive eyes. For the lip makeup, it removes the darkest of lipstick in just 2-3 swipes but for shimmery lipstick, it may not be able to remove the shimmers or the glitters properly coz I once tried it to remove the L’oreal lipstick which is a shimmery lipstick and I could feel that the shimmers were not removed properly. Now for the main part that is the face makeup, it removes foundation, compact, concealer and all other face makeup products very well and leaves skin soft but I feel that I need a face wash after using this as my skin does not feel squeaky clean and I can’t go to bed relying just on this remover to make my face clean and fresh, for the makeup removing part, it does its work perfectly but then you need face wash to make your skin clean and fresh.

For the first time I used it, I saw some allergic reaction on my face thinking that this remover is the culprit and I stopped using it but I tried it once more, after all I had to try it properly for reviewing purpose and I realized later that it was not this makeup remover’s fault but it was due to some cream I was testing on my face which at the end of the day gave me some allergic reaction. This makeup remover is oil based but still it does not cause breakouts and you may not like it if your skin is oily as it leaves some oily feeling behind which is not much and vanishes really fast and can be dealt even by following up with a toner or simply by washing your face with warm water. I love how it leaves my dry eyes moisturized for the fact that it is oil based!

Now how to use this makeup remover, you may first want to wet your face to use this remover like you clean your face with a cleansing milk but no, it does not go well on wet face and you have to skip wetting your face before using this remover, just massage a small amount on the entire face including the eye and lip area and after a few minutes when you see all your face turning bizarre

(I mean all makeup getting dissolved) use a cotton ball to wipe off the makeup and wash your face with lukewarm water to get rid of that oily residue.

Pros of Revlon Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:

  • Affordable.
  • Spreads easily.
  • Travel friendly and sturdy packaging.
  • Effectively removes makeup.
  • Ophthalmologist tested so does not sting the eyes.
  • Didn’t cause me breakouts.
  • Leaves skin soft.
  • No extra scrubbing or harsh strokes are required to wipe off the makeup, only a few swipes and it removes all makeup.

Cons of Revlon Eye and Lip Makeup Remover:

  • Some of you may not like the slight oily feeling it leaves after removing makeup but I feel that can be dealt by washing the face with warm water.
  • Contains mineral oil so some of you may get prone to breakouts if you are allergic to mineral oil.
  • Can make the eyes blurry for a few seconds if it gets into the eyes but washing the eyes with water takes care of that issue as well.
