Review: BLOODSHOT AND H.A.R.D. CORPS #0

Posted on the 26 February 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

Three decades of destruction. Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #0 tells a story from the 1970′s through the 90′s and how we get to meet the man known as Bloodshot.

Two things caught my interest in this title: Bloodshot and the number 0. I was always a fan of the “0″ book. The ones that I read, I enjoyed. They usually give a back story or a look into what’s to come. Combine that with a character I have always heard about but didn’t know much about equals a must read.

I was unfamiliar with this series but chose to check it out for the above mentioned reasons. This one was a bit different than that…but in a good way. On top of a nice background story of the H.A.R.D. Corps through three decades, it was visually captivating. For this title, they used 11 artists in total. YES 11! Most of it was grouped in the specific decade’s storyline with other sets on the cover art. It was unique to see the different styles through the book. I liked how it got a bit more detailed on the line work as well as coloring as it progressed.

Bloodshot doesn’t come into the story until the end. He makes his mark and claims a victim in only his second panel of the book. Pretty hard core if you ask me.

This story is moving onto issue 20 due out in March. Bloodshot seems like an interesting character so I might check out more titles with him in it. If you are a fan of him, I would recommend you check out this issue to maybe give you some background on Project Rising Spirit and the H.A.R.D. Corps.
