The bandana-wearing Frenchman, who had an eye condition from birth, mixed talent and grit. Until the Isner-Mahut fest, his match against Santoro at the 2004 French Open, was the longest on record.
He liked to play in France, winning 3 of his 4 singles titles in Lyon, Metz and Marseille. Doubles was his primary jam though and particularly with Sebastian Grosjean and Michael Llodra he reaped the most success.
