Restaurant Review: Peppercrab, Dubai
We talk a lot in our restaurant reviews about how some restaurants truly change eating a meal into a full out dining experience. Few restaurants truly live up to this but in Dubai, we were lucky enough to visit some of the best restaurants in our life, and Peppercrab might have given us the best seafood meal of our lives. Located in the Grand Hyatt Dubai, the Peppercrab is way more than just a hotel restaurant, it is a destination restaurant that residents and tourists from all over Dubai go out of their way to visit.
Famous for its fish and seafood dishes, Peppercrab prides itself on providing simply the best Singaporean and Asian seafood dishes available. Laid out in an elegant manner with open kitchens and fresh live seafood, Peppercrab chefs prepare the absolute freshest ingredients and dishes possible. Great for large groups and couples alike, Peppercrab is a restaurant you get excited to go to and you better make sure you bring an appetite.
The menu is full of mouth watering offerings including Singaporean roasted duck, prawn curry, beef rendang and their world famous peppered crab. If you are just two people, as we were, prepare to leave absolutely stuffed because, to put it simply, there are too many good things to miss and you have to try them all. We asked the maitre d to help us decide what to order and he did an amazing job of putting together a world class meal, paired with a superb bottle of wine.
Starting off with a handful of delectable appetizers, we tried to pace ourselves as best we could. The mixtures of flavors, spices and fresh seafood was simply stunning and pairing it all with a crisp white wine was heavenly. After sampling some of the most delicious finger foods ever made we were eager for the signature dish, the pepper crab.
Served in a massive bowl, the pepper crab is like nothing you have ever seen before. The crab is simply gigantic and absolutely covered in course ground pepper, adding the perfect spice to the dish without taking away from the natural and fresh seafood flavor. Armed with our bibs and all the tools we needed we simply drifted off into seafood heaven and made sure to eat every little bit of meat.
After the main course and taking a break to sip some wine and digest our seafood, our meal was topped off by a quite spectacular dessert of three different delicacies, each a couple bites of perfection but none too heavy after such a stunning meal.
From start to finish, Peppercrab provides one of the most complete and delicious meals we have ever had and by far the best crab and seafood you could ever find. The staff is very helpful and on top of every element of your meal.
As we said, groups come from all over Dubai for a night at Peppercrab so make sure and make your reservation far in advance and start ramping up that appetite. Every meal you have might not be an experience but you’ll know one when you have one and if you want to try the most delicious seafood around and make lasting memories with your family or loved one, make sure to get to Peppercrab.
