Deadline is reporting that Marvel has brought on Jon Spaihts to rewrite the Doctor Strange script as that project gets closer and closer to becoming a reality. Spaihts is currently writing The Mummy reboot and also wrote the first draft for Prometheus. If this is a complete rewrite, then it could delay the film somewhat as Marvel tries to finalize plans for bringing the good Doctor to the screen.
The article also mentions that Jared Leto is now in consideration for the role along with Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch.
