Remembering Layne Staley, 10 Years Later.

Posted on the 06 April 2012 by Melodicwisdom

As many of you may know, today marks the 10 year anniversary since we lost Layne Staley, the original lead singer of Alice in Chains. The video above is a tribute I made about four years ago which has had over 20,000 views.

The song featured is “10,000 Miles” by Mary Chapin Carpenter. I know, it’s sort of an unlikely pairing. I first heard this song as a kid in the movie, Fly Away Home and it brought sadness to me. It still does. The lyrics fell into place with how I felt about Layne.

So let’s all take a moment to pay respects to such a beautiful man that will never be forgotten.

Fare thee well, my own true love…
