Rehiring: Important Matters to Consider

Posted on the 04 December 2012 by Hreric @myhreric

HR should consider these peoples’ past performance. Had they been productive while they were employed by the organization? Had they contributed to the success of the team? What are the value-added essentials they possess that the organization feels their need to be rehired?

Decisions of rehiring people should be carefully made if these people will contribute and lead the team towards the attainment of its goals and objectives. Most multi-national companies strategically do the rehiring of employees if the skills of those people are still beneficial and crucial to its success. I’ve seen many executives and highly technical skilled people being rehired.

Another consideration HR should also focus is the effect it has on its existing employees. Will the rehiring boost morale or will it cause people problem? If there are available talents within the organization that can fill-in the existing vacancy, then rehiring is not the answer. That way, people will be motivated as they can see that their career path is leading them to a better future.
