No kidding, I’m doing the Snoopy Happy Dance daily now that the weather has cooled down enough to bust out the scarves! I’m a bit color and pattern-averse when it comes to clothing, so scarves can be real power players in my wardrobe. I use them to:
- Add color near the face
- Provide an accent color and/or pattern for neutrals
- Add variety
- Tie together other colors in an outfit
- Keep the neck warm! (I have some arthritis in my neck, and find wearing a scarf in cool temperatures helps prevent and reduce stiffness.)
Plaid and buffalo check prints seem to be “hot” for fall, and a scarf is one way to play with this trend without veering to sharply into Lumberjack or Grunge territory. If you’re into pattern mixing, wear your plaid or check scarf with stripes, animal print or floral print.
