Readers’ Workouts — July 9

How did everybody do with the holiday in the midst of the week? I missed a day but made it up in the garden the next day so I’m right on track to meet my goal of 1500 minutes of exercise in July.

I’ve also made some progress in getting my other healthy lifestyle habits back in place after they all fell apart in June. I’ve been adding a new Small Step every two or three days. Today, I’m up to four things:

  • Eat only in my eating places (that is, not in the car and not standing up in the kitchen)
  • Eat only foods that serve me well (for example, white bread does nothing for me but trigger cravings for more white bread)
  • Eat only at my eating times (three meals and one or two snacks, not grazing throughout the day)
  • Eat only what I initially serve myself (I don’t need seconds or to invent extra courses while I’m eating)
