This week, Bonham’s New York auction will feature an incredibly rare Patek Philippe “TV Watch.” According to National Jeweler,
“Nicknamed the “TV watch” because of its tonneau-shaped case, the Patek Philippe Ref. 5020 is a platinum perpetual calendar chronograph made in 1998. It comes with an additional diamond-set black dial. The watch is accompanied by its factory service record and has been re-sealed in a plastic sleeve by Patek Philippe. It is estimated to sell for between $280,000 and $320,000.”

The auction will feature 25 complicated mechanical watches all owned by a single collector of the timepieces, and will include both a Breuget and a Girard Perregaux tourbillon. Additionally, the auction includes not one, but two Paul Newman Daytona‘s from the 1970′s.
