Rabindranath Tagore was a famous writer. He was born in Kolkata India. He was first Asian to win nobel prize. He won Nobel Prize in 1913 for literature.
He wrote poems [manasi (the ideal one), gitanjali (song offerings), sonar tari (the golden boat), the gardener, etc.], plays (raja (the king of the dark chamber), dakghar (the post office), muktadhara (the waterfall), etc.], essays, dramas and novels [one of his novel is gora].National anthems of countries like India [Jana Gana Mana] and Bangladesh [Amar Shonar Bangla] were written by him.
