Recently I thought "oh, I'll just whip up a quilt for my mum" while I carry on putting together my quilt. She does so much to support me I thought it would be nice to do something for her. She likes to knit in the living room whilst watching the tv and I thought she could do with a nice knee blanket. "Whip one up" has meant three months of making it, in between getting on with the rest of my life. Fun, but not as swift as I'd first imagined. She chose all greens from the stashes she and I have got and I really like the results. Choosing one broad color meant we could mix modern prints with more antique ones and I'm quite pleased with the result.Anyway, I recently finished it and thought I'd show the results, with some extra pictures of my mum's garden because it's looking particularly beautiful at the moment: The backing - those who buy fabric at Ikea may recognize it. Ma's two favorite patches.
