Pupdate #1 – It’s Official!

By Hhepton

puppy dogSo it’s official, I’m finally getting a puppy! Ahhhhhhhhh! If you follow me on Twitter you may see me retweet endless amounts of cute dogs, or talk about how much I’d love one of my own, and now it’s finally happening. I really don’t know why but my Mam suddenly decided a little while ago she thought it was a good idea, and started trying to persuade my Dad. It never even crossed my mind it might actually happen so I kind of just got on with whatever, half joining in the persuasion of Trevor but really leaving it up to mother bear. Then all of a sudden it was ‘we are getting a dog!’ Yipppeeeee, I couldn’t believe it! Well, my Mam actually said “you’re expecting a new arrival on the 4th September” and my immediate words were “WHO ON EARTH IS HAVING A BABY ON MY BIRTHDAY”, not to worry though… She just meant puppy dog :)

Anyway I started the search and little puppy dog up there was in the very first litter I saw, I knew straight away I wanted to go and meet him to see what him and his family were like. The people were absolutely lovely, they own both of puppy dog’s parents and their children have actually named him Clive! He has three fluffy little sisters who are all ridiculously cute too, and I could tell the owner’s really look after and care for their dogs so we were more than happy to get a puppy from them. He was only 5 weeks old when we visited him last Thursday and it was the cutest thing as he was really sleepy just sat there haha! Then he finally woke up and I had a little play, his little tail was wagging and I think he definitely already loves me. I’m turning into a crazy dog lady already aren’t I? Oh dear, I don’t even care…

So I have wait of two weeks tomorrow wait and then he will be coming home with me! We will have to introduce him to Homer my 12 year old cat, but he is old and lazy now so I don’t think he will care. I’m guessing he is just going to stay away from puppy dog, but if anyone has any experience of introducing puppies to old cats I’d love to hear. Also, after writing this post we have named him Rufus! What do you think? He definitely looks like a Rufus to me :) If you want to see more about mine and puppy dogs journey I’m going to be doing a weekly pupdate, even if nobody else is that interested I just think it’s going to be a nice way of keeping a little diary of him growing up :)
