PRODUCT REVIEW: O&M Original Detox Shampoo & Conditioner

Hello everyone! I haven’t done a product review in a fair few months, so I thought it was about time to deliver another one.

For those who know me, washing my hair is my least favorite thing to do. It takes too much time and more often than not, you’re nearly ALWAYS doing something that isn’t good for it; too much GHD, applying too much product, washing too often or not enough. So, clearly there isn’t a good balance in what you should or shouldn’t be doing.

For a couple of years now I used a shampoo and conditioner that only requires me washing my hair once a week and it’s been working for me extremely well. But in the world of beauty blogging, you’re forced to try different different brands and not every shampoo and conditioner combo has passed the once a week challenge, til now…

Say hello to Original Mineral (O&M) Original Detox Shampoo & Conditioner

. Breaks down build up of product and dirt
. Gives you clean hair for 5-6 days between (depending on your hair type)
. Fresh minty sensation on your scalp
. Cruelty-free
. Salon quality products and highly recommended by hairdressers . Price point. It is on the expensive side for shampoo and conditioner

I not only have long thick dark hair, my scalp is also oily and often in the colder months, it’s a lot drier. So, my hair goes through a lot throughout the year. Because of this I don’t use a lot of styling products in my hair (anything to get away with washing my hair less during the week) and while staightening my hair does happen from time to time, I naturally already do have straight hair. So, these days I tend of opt for clean, fresh, effortless hair without having to do too much with it.

By using the product a couple of times a week, I find that no matter what I put my hair through – excessive heat treatment or product build up – using the O&M Original Detox Shampoo and Conditioner really help the hair relax, reset and refresh from on the onslaught of whatever we put it through.

I tend to finish the shampoo before the conditioner, because when washing my hair, I shampoo twice and condition once.

The O&M Original Detox Shampoo really breaks down all the product build up and it leaves you with a minty sensation on the scalp. Some people might not like that, but I find it gives to a sense of cleaniness.

The O&M Original Detox Conditioner also had the minty sensation but really makes your hair soft, smooth and when dry, really silky.

I find using this combo really makes a difference with how my hair behaves between washes and when I’m using minimal product; hairspray, dry shampoo, etc.

They are expensive but I find that they really do a great job on my hair. I would love to find a cheaper product that will make my hair behave the same way and get the same results. But until then, I will continue buying these for as long as I can.
