She had been in the bar of the Penhelig all day. North Wales was Autumn’s bolt hole when life became too much for her. Along with the wine, she drank in Welsh folks legends of mystical times hundreds of years ago.
Hugh was regaling tales of the village long drowned in the estuary. He told her on a clear frosty night the church bells could be heard, but only by those who are lucky in life.
Autumn laughed as she left the pub “ Is it me or are the bells ringing?”
Her Manolos slipped on the icy pavement and she landed unceremoniously on her rear.
