PPP to Support PML-N in National Assembly

Posted on the 03 June 2013 by Azharnadeem

Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has decided in principle to support Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the National Assembly.

Sources have told that PPP will support PML-N candidates for the offices of speaker, deputy speaker and the prime minister.

The development became possible after Senator Ishaq Dar, upon the direction of Nawaz Sharif, contacted with several PPP leaders and urged them to support PML-N in the lower-house of the parliament.

Though the nomination papers for the offices of speaker and deputy speaker have been submitted from PPP but they will be withdrawn before the election.

PPP’s decision is the reply of goodwill that PML-N showed by giving vote of confidence to PPP’s prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in 2008.
