Withdrawing the name of Hafeez Akhtar Randhawa‚Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has proposed the name of renowned journalist Najam Sethi for the post of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab.
Former opposition leader in Punjab Raja Raiz, in a letter to chief minister Shahbaz Sharif said that they have withdrawn the name of Randhawa, and now their proposed names for the slot are Najam Sethi and Justice (Retd) Zahid Hussain.
The speaker of Punjab assembly, Mohammad Iqbal has constituted a six-member parliamentary committee which will choose caretaker chief minister will consensus.
The government’s members in the committee are Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Rana Sanaullah and Iqbal Channar while opposition members are Chaudary Zaheeruddin, Shaukat Basra and Major (retd) Zulafqar Gondal.
The first meeting of the committee will be held on Sunday.
