Post Work out Consumption

The feeling of Work out cannot be expressed in words. However, it gives a great amount of satisfaction and achievement to the person. The effects of work out can only be seen if the person consumes the right dietary stuff pre as well as post work regime. A perfect work out session drenches out all the energy from our body. Hence, our body craves for immediate food post work out. It is essential to give a small gap or break post work out rather than immediately jumping upon gorging upon food and beverages. Our body differs from person to person. Hence, it is ideal to follow a diet chart which is prescribed by the dietician as per the condition of the body. A right dietary intake can make the person fit and strong internally as well as externally. Thus, let us understand the right items to be consumed post work out.

 Post Work out Eating:

Whether the person runs, does yoga, goes for trekking, does cardio in gym, etc… it is advisable to go for a right post work out consumption. The exercise sessions squeezed the carbohydrates and fluids from our body. The idea behind post work out intake is to get back the essential nutrients in the body. The best way to check the fluid level is to take the sweat rate. The person should weigh himself or herself pre and post work out. For every kilo lost, the person should drink 1.5 liters of water. The person should consume eggs, potatoes, etc… that are rich in carbohydrates.

  • Eggs-Eggs act as a protein agent in the body. They are best to be consumed post workout. Eggs can be consumed in the form of boiled one or half cooked egg. A boil or a cooked egg facilitates the body in absorbing twice protein.
  • Orange Juice-Orange juice is a natural beverage which is rich in Vitamin C. Instead of running after the packed juices, it is ideal to make it oneself. A fresh orange juice has all the requisites for a post work out consumption. Orange juice restores the fluids in the body.
  • Bananas-Bananas are immediate and fast acting carbohydrates. They act as good carbohydrates which is essentially required post work out. Good carbohydrates help in re-development of damaged muscles and restores glycogen levels in body. Bananas also give lot of potassium to body.
  • Blueberries-Antioxidants are very important for channelizing work out sessions. It boosts the stamina of the person and helps in carrying out the work out sessions. Blueberries can be consumed post workout.
  • Dried nuts and fruits-Dried nuts and fruits are rich sources of proteins and carbohydrates. They increase the energy levels in the person and fix the proteins in the body.
  • Pineapple-Pineapples are not only rich in vitamin C but they are also a natural form of anti – inflammatory. It heals the swelling, sprains and bruises. It also repairs the tissues in the body.
  • Sweet Potatoes-Sweet potatoes are a rich source of vitamins, nutrients, magnesium, potassium, C, D and B6.
