Alright love. Before we get started, I’d like to make it clear that this is not a sponsered post. If you’ve been here a while you know I just like sharing. I’m a sharer.
I’ve been signed up to a survey company called Populus Live for quite a while now and I’ve always ignored the invitations up until about a month and a half ago, which is when I started completing almost every one they sent through. I like surveys okay?!
Anyway, every survey you do has a value – some are worth £2, the longer ones are worth more etc. and when you reach a total of 50 points (each point is a GBP) they automatically send you a check for £50! I’m serious.
I’m not going to include a link to prove that this really isn’t sponsered, so just type Populus Live into Google and get yourself registered. My check came through last week, so I took myself of to town to pay it in and then got shopping! I feel I’ve posted quite a few haul posts lately, but I figure since it was my birthday and this haul is actually proof that not all survey sites are a pile of crap it makes it okay! :D
I’ve been thinking about getting a new/bigger makeup bag lately, but I couldn’t find one I liked that was within my budget so that check came just at the right time! I found this beautiful Ted Baker bag in Boots and fell in love instantly. It cost £15 which is a lot more than I would usually condone spending on something like this, but I figured I’d earned it! I opted for the biggest of the three different sizes available, but I kind of want to find an excuse to get the smaller ones too! And how cute is that puppy print inside?!
Me and my boyfriend are in the beginnings of renting our own place which I’m finding super stressful, and you can definitely tell by looking at my skin. It’s like I’m 13 again! It’s terrible, and nothing seems to be clearing it up; I’m a super stressy person so there’s no chance of me calming down enough for my skin to clear any time soon. With this in mind I was looking for something that I could easily slip into my skincare routine that might make a difference, and I stumbled across this:
Bit weird looking isn’t it? It’s from Soap & Glory and is called ‘Brush With Greatness‘ – they always have the coolest names don’t they? This retails for £6.50, which tight-arse over here thinks is a little pricey but then again I think everything’s pricey. You meant to use the white side first with your face wash but the bristles are pretty rough which means it’s not the most comfortable experience, however the pink side brings the feeling back so it’s not too bad. I’ve been using it for about a week and have noticed a bit of a difference, although it’s hard to tell if it’s this or the face wash. My skin sure feels clean though!
Of course I can’t go into Boots without grabbing a tube of my holy grail mascara, which you can read a full review on by clicking here.
I can’t possibly go shopping without popping into Superdrug, where I picked up Rimmel’s Scandeleyes Eyeliner pen. I havent used a felt tip before but thought I’d give it a go.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but years ago I had a really bad reaction to a Bourjois mascara which caused my eyes to swell up so much I couldn’t see! Since then I’ve stayed clear of all Bourjois products, but for some reason I was feeling adventurous and picked up their Healthy Mix Serum in the lightest shade which matches my skin perfectly! I’ve only had it a week but it’s definitely become my favorite foundation. And it smells a bit like fruit so… that’s nice.
As Superdrug were running a ‘3 for 2′ offer I took a wander round to the Makeup Revolution stand and found the Golden Sugar blush palette that I’ve been lusting after for weeks! It’s been out of stock online so I stupidly assumed that it wasn’t in stores either. I’m in love with this thing. I’ve been using it daily as blush, highlight and even as a subtle eyeshadow. YUM.
At this point I started to run out of time (we were going to view the flat), so I had a quick browse down the other aisles and ended up buying these:
I’ve heard a lot about Bondi Sands and wanted to give their products a go, but I’m currently using my St Moriz fake tan and didn’t want to buy another so I opted for the gradual tanning lotion instead which is making the St Moriz last really well! I also picked up a large can of dry shampoo because I think I’d have a meltdown if I run out of the stuff. I needed another bottle of the deep cleansing lotion (I get through it ridiculously fast) and noticed that they had a BOGOF offer running on all ‘clear skin’ skincare so I thought I’d give the face wash a try too – I’ve been using it with that S&G brush and I’ve really been liking it!
It’s basically free stuff! Even though I had to spend a bit of time filling out surveys it was still worth it, and it’s not as if I did the surveys all in one big lump so it feels like I’ve just been given free money! I’m not going to buy anything else for quite some time now though… I feel I’ve spent more than enough this month! Déjà Vu…
