This colorful beverage with gin, sweet pomegranate juice, fizzy club soda, and a squeeze of fresh lime makes a refreshing summer drink.
After Monday’s 4th of July Healthy Recipe Roundup I thought it would be a fun idea to make an adult beverage to go along with all that good food. And since today is 5 Ingredient Friday, this gin inspired drink is perfect!
Mr. Mike’s a gin fan, though most often he drinks his gin with seltzer and lime. Personally, I stick to white wine most happy hours, but I must say I enjoyed dreaming up something new to try.
Costco sells big bottles of POM for an amazing price so I keep it on hand to add to my water during the day. I like that it’s not too sweet and has a ton of antioxidants, so it’s good for me too. (Though I’m guessing the alcohol in the gin might negate the health benefits in this case!)
Muddling a few leaves of mint on the bottom of the glass adds to the invigorating pomegranate flavor of this summery libation, along with the hint of lime and fizzy soda.
We’re heading to a friend’s house for a big fish fry over the weekend. What do you think? Should I take this drink offering with me to share?
Shake It Up!
This drink is just as refreshing without the gin. If you like a shot of fun but gin isn’t your thing, vodka or white wine would be just as refreshing.
Happy 4th of July!

FYI – You might like this sparkling wine with berries too. It’s perfect with a shot of gin in place of wine!
