Polling Started for General Elections

The polling for the crucial general elections has been started in Pakistan. Polling got underway at 8:00 AM and will continue till 5:00 PM uninterruptedly.

More than 86 million voters will decide the fate of contestants for 269 seats of the National Assembly and 573 of provincial assemblies. The polls have been postponed on the National Assembly’s two and provincial assembly’s three seats.

In all 4,671 candidates are contesting for the general 269 seats of National Assembly while 10,958 candidates will try their luck for the 573 provincial assemblies’ seats.

Overall, 69,801 polling stations have been established throughout the country, out of which 30,895 have been declared hyper sensitive by the agencies concerned.
