There are now a plethora of free or inexpensive weather apps available for boaters to use for forecasts and current conditions. I've just tested the free Android version of PocketGrib, another app using data from NOAA's Global Forecast System. The free version offers three different ways (map, graph, table) to view wind (speed and direction), precipitation, and air pressure forecasts for the next two days anywhere in the world. It's a useful app to supplement other forecasts. While I'd recommend the free Lite version for Android devices, I wouldn't buy the Apple version for 6 bucks with so many other apps available.
