PocketDisc – Simple Colorful Fun

By Vsudarsan

Hello, everyone! It's slightly more than a week since I returned back from Chennai, India. I have had the worst jet lag after my return. My body was totally disoriented due to the time zone changes. I'm so glad it's over now and happy to be blogging again. This page is about a product that is just perfect to have fun indoors or outdoors. PocketDisc sent me an all-cotton frisbee disc that was hand crocheted by Maya artisans in Guatemala using Fair Trade practices. This simple colorful disc that has replaced my plastic frisbee.

Interestingly, a 9-year old's school project in 2005 led to the development of this amazing product. Now, over one million discs are sold, and they help support over 500 artisans. This company has also invested in the development of their villages - installed water filtration systems and have also helped in enhancing children's education.

PocketDiscs come in a variety of colors and patterns - each one looks lovely. Unlike plastic frisbees, these are very safe and is easy to handle. They weigh very little and can even be folded. Based on my experience, these fly well and it looks beautiful in the air. I have only nice things to say about these hand-made cotton frisbee discs. Here are some pictures for you. PocketDisc also offers a wide range of products which might interest you. Check out their site at pocketdisc.com
