Being a blogger, social media is part of my life, so seeing this video really hit home. When I'm at brunch or out with friends, it's all about the next instagram or what we can tweet. Our social media and technology has taken over every bit that we do and it's actually kind of a scary thing. But for bloggers especially, deleting social media means that followers lose connection with us and we've built this community in that.
I'm going to make it a goal this summer to have one day a week that I am just completely off of all technology. It's going to be hard because it's an addiction. We feel incomplete if we don't have our phones, computers, iPads, etc...attached to our hips. I'm not making a specific day but I am going to make one day each week that I'm "unplugged." I will announce it the night before and you all will hear from me 24 hours later!
I think this will be healthy, healing, and there will be a lot of adventure that stems from it.
It's like the modern day version of, "if a tree falls in the forest, did it really make a sound?"
"if we don't post about it, were we really even there?"
I want to change the norm and of course I will have my camera. But as far as social media goes, I won't be on it.
Y'all should join in on this!
