Pirouette in the 1st was the perfect place for a send-off lunch for our former downstairs' neighbors departing after three weeks here over the holidays. Because of the ladies not orderig 1sts, we upped the price point of our wine.
The writer-couple we ate with yesterday raved about Pirouette's fregola with black truffle slices and wouldn't you know the chef subbing for Tomy sent them out as amuses before we had his most interesting combo of gnocchi, herring and ricotta.
For mains our friends both had noisettes of lamb, cebette, kale and harissa sauce, Colette had the scallops, sunflowers and grapefruit and I had the pintade with crispy bacon, capucine tubereuse and oatmeal sprinkled on top.
For desserts; M. had the chocolate tart with truffle ice cream and Colette the ris au lait.
Our bill, with two bottles of wine, no bottled water and three coffees, was 231 E.
