Follow this season’s trend for feminine, romantic styling with natural movement. Opt for a middle parting and waves to best showcase the Splashlight and let the Pink do the talking!  Loose, informal waves with a distinct central parting were evident at a number of S/S 2014 runway shows, IT LOOKS stylist Anthony Turner comments that this style creates a “Breezy effect” which “Opens up the brightness” of the wearer’s face.

Splashlight is a contrasting horizontal band of lighter or brighter hair which stretches from ear to ear, across the mid-lengths, creating a “Ray of light” effect. A key emerging trend for the fashion-forward IT crowd, the Splashlight represents a bold departure from traditional notions of ombré. For a more formal take on the middle parting and wave’s style, create a more defined curl through the hair mid-lengths and ends, while retaining a soft straightness through the top of the hair. This dual-texture effect is perfect for spring/summer evening events to best display the Splashlight!

Hair stylist Anthony Turner: “The look we created for Poppy was something a little bit unexpected, it’s something that maybe you haven’t seen a lot of before. It feels very cool, very fun, very young. Poppy is a real girl of the moment, she is face of “Right now”. We created loose, light waves using a big tong to get a bend in the hair. We wanted the look of a breeze in the hair to really open up her face. It felt very fresh and very current…and fun! That was the main thing as Poppy is fun, I really enjoyed working with her.”

Colorist Mario Charalambous: “The Splashlight is a new and unique way of adding a striking color effect to long hair. It creates a bright, bold band of color and intrigue as to how exactly the effect was achieved. It works because it is very attention-grabbing! You can see a beautiful intensity at the heart of the splashlight, that fades softly at the edges until it vanishes.”
