Yesterday we had a lovely family day and decided to go to the park where Warren and I grew up. We haven't actually taken Sienna to it before even though it's only 10 minutes away!
She was in her element and definitely wanted to explore, she would try one thing and then say 'out, out' and run off to the next. It's a bigger park than the one in our town and has fields around it so we took it a little picnic, Sienna enjoyed digging into some Metcalfe's sweet cinnamon spice popcorn while we snacked on some sweet 'n salt, oh my they're all so good!
Sienna's favorite part of this park was the wobbly wooden bridge, she was a bit nervous at first but we reassured her and soon she was walking it all by herself. We were praising her and when she got the end, she did the most adorable thing and said 'I did it!' Aw my heart melted! She's just so cuteeeee!
Upon the hill is the 'Dovecot' which is a Grade II* listed building and ancient monument . We had planned to climb but it was just too hot and Sienna got a bit tired, but maybe when she's a bit bigger we can take her up there.
Daddy did teach Sienna about climbing trees though and she loved it! I think she is going to become a bit of a tomboy as she loved climbing and digging more than helping me pick daisies, haha!
It was so nice and a bit surreal taking our daughter to the park we used to play in as kids!
Have you taken your kids back to your home town?
