For as long as I can remember, I've had a camera in my hand. I remember being at Colchester Zoo when I was around 11 years old and realising that whilst others around me were quickly snapping their photos, I was framing mine through the viewfinder of my little Kodak compact, desperately hoping the little penguin in the window would face me for that front on view, and he did! I was too excited to get home and upload the photos to see what they were like, it was then that I realised I might have a new favourite thing.
Nature was always my 'thing', I began my hobby uploading to a social networking site which over the course of a few years, led me to amass over 2 million views, and although looking back, my Photography really wasn't up to par, the fact I had a passion for it, completely overtook that, no one starts out being 'perfect' at something, and actually no-one ever ends up being perfect at that something either, but if you have that feeling of passion and excitement when it comes to a hobby, you keep doing it, just because it makes you feel so buzzy and happy!
So a few months ago I received a message, from someone who had seen my work and read this blog, and wanted me to join her team and be the Official Wedding Reporter Photographer for her website. Obviously I said yes very quickly and the cogs in my head began ticking away with ideas!
Since then I have had the most rewarding time, working with some amazing entrepreneurs and capturing their talents and passion from my perspective. My most recent shoot was with the lovely Lisa Caldognetto, a truly talented make up artist from Somerset who has not only worked with Maybelline but has created some of the makeup looks from London Fashion Week over the past 6 years! I really really enjoyed trying something new and have definitely found a new field I want to expand on with my portfolio!
