Pakistan Muslim League-Q has given ticket to former vice Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the constituency NA-105 of Gujarat.
He will contest election Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar, who served as minister of defense and minister of water and power in the previous government.
The move is considered as a setback for the potential electoral alliance between PPP and PML-Q.
According to sources, President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned Ahmad Mukhtar for the consultation.
Ahmad Mukhtar has already announced that he will contest election as an independent candidate from NA-105 in case his party not gives him ticket.
