When he says winter, I think scarves, boots, jeans, corduroy and snuggly knits.
When I’m the one saying winter, the MOTH thinks footy season, heating bills and hot food. It’s really a case of the whole Mars and Venus theory isn’t it?
There is something that we both agree on though, and that is in this cooler weather when the MOTH gets home from a long day, looking forward to a hot meal, that pizzas are a mighty fine dinner idea. They are *especially* suitable for an easy-peasy Friday Night Football meal BUT hey, forget the takeaway version. Pizza Hut – Schmizza Hut, I say! Oh and, of course, such better value to-boot!
Nothing beats a homemade pizza covered with lashings of fresh ingredients deliciously hot directly from the oven. Just check my latest one out …. Yummo!!!!
From the ground up, this little slice of pizza perfection (even if I do indeed say so myself
) featured:- organic tomato paste
- shredded mozzarella
- finely sliced ham
- reduced fat salami (cuts out the oiliness!)
- mushrooms (approximately a bucket of them)
- spring onions
- avocado
- black olive rings
Mwah! How simple and easy is that? Truly, it was simply but delish!
Some other tasty topping ideas include the following, but we all know that the pizza topping possibilities are just endless:
- thinly sliced sweet potato (it’s a brilliant pizza topping, trust me!)
- pumpkin
- fetta cheese
- zucchini slices
Gee, I’m positively hungry just thinking about all of that pizza goodness! Are you on team homemade pizza or team take away? What’s your dream pizza topped with?
