Pastel Colored Thanksgiving Tablescape

I am the person who always goes for brightly colored dinnerware but there was something about this Axel pastel colored stoneware dinner set, that I couldn't just pass it. I bought the dinner plates, the salad plates both pink and caramel and a couple of soup bowls to go with the plates. The pastel theme for my tablescape kind of originated from dinnerware. I decided to keep it really low-key, classy and almost neutral with subtle pops of color here and there.

The theme and color scheme is the hardest part of any tablescape, but once that has been locked in, everything else just pans out. Since my theme was pastel, I got the rest of my accessories and tablescape elements to complement the rest. Below you'll find some elements that make a great tablescape.

THE FLORAL ARRANGEMENT

Usually, a floral arrangement takes centerstage in my tablescapes, but this year I skipped the flowers completely. Flowers add the pop of color and pull the whole table setting together. They are a good idea but totally optional. Instead, my woven table runner became my focal point this time. If you are looking for floral arrangement inspiration, check it out HERE.

I bought this faux eucalyptus garland that doubles up both as a table runner and a wall decor. It is such a good quality for the price. I wanted to add some sparkle to the otherwise plain eucalyptus garland, hence the sparkly garland. Those pumpkins that you see are just a bunch of straw pumpkins that I picked out at a Target a couple months ago.

The classic-casual order in which the plates are placed is charger first ( I swapped out mine for), then dinner plate, then salad plate, then bowl ( if using one), otherwise the napkins pull it all together. A formal dinner table setting would have couple different sized forks and knives depending on the number of courses. But when at home you could switch as per your convenience. I just used folks, knives and spoons. I tri-folded the napkins and placed them under the salad plate.

Candles constitute huge part of any table setting, specially when I am doing it. Pillar/tapered candles are the simplest, yet the most sophisticated option. When feeling a bit more over-the-top I like to use candelabras- they have their own royal charm. You can swap your floral arrangement for a circular arrangement of candles and make it the focal point of your setting.
