Party POSSIBILITIES & The Good That Could Come From Having One

By Carlo @CarloAtYourServ

Party POSSIBILITIES & The Good That Could Come From Having One It's the last day of the year, people.
Did you have at least one one party this year?

Or, did you celebrate by going to and being a guest at least one party this year? Or, not?

It's great if you did. But... what if... today, wasn't the last day of the year and there were more days left for you to host (or go to) a party or two?
What if, today, you found out that just by creating the very social act, otherwise known as "having a party", was going to save someones life or get someone out of the house who's agoraphobic and terrified to go outside, or make someones teenage kid contemplating suicide feel like someone out there was listening to them and truly cared? Someone who could use a boatload of love hurled their way. Someone who is holding on for dear life to hope that They're. Going. To. Make. It.
And hey, what if actually just bringing a few people together to hang out and talk, or just to celebrate... breathing air would lift the spirits of someone on the brink of desperation and despair? Because you never really know how someone truly feels (who will tell you that they're "fine" and doing alright) or what is in the heart and mind of a person that you've assumed just has to be okay (I mean, they look okay and everything else that I know about seems fine; but that's just it, you don't... know... everything),  that you see everyday or work on a special project with once a month, or pass by on your way to the grocery store, or see at your nephews little league games.
Whenever someone is missing, literally or figuratively... whenever some tragic act occurs and the news media go out to report the story, inevitably there is going to be someone on camera sharing their story about how "everything seemed fine", and how "they were the nicest person", and that "we would have never suspected that something like this would ever happen"...
I'm sorry but, being that naive has Got. To. Stop.
Behold wise ones: Think outside of the box in the future, about human significance and reasons why we usually have a party in the first place and what we can do differently to make it more about spirit and less about only celebration and getting "our par-tay on) -- making it actually more about celebrating someones life than just celebrating the boogie and having a get down party night... that as of today, and ushering in the New Year... would help us be wiser, more thoughtful, and assume a new better position about some of the parties we have.
I'm in "Vegas baby"... and smart enough to know that everything ain't always as it appears.
Here in Party Town U.S.A. it's all about glitterati, celebratti, paparazzi galore.
So, what do you think? Should it really be primarily about celebrating an occasion that just creates a splash? Or, is it more important for it to be about creating something more positive and sustaining to the human spirit?
H'm... something to think about.
Happy New Year... almost.

*****
I do this... I write to help to create to opportunities for all who choose to pursue their passion to have parties almost irregardless regard to economic constraints.
I think if we keep talking about the cost of parties (I write blog posts, you write comments), together, maybe we can break down some of the party industry's price barriers and shame some of the people who've taken your money and delivered a poor quality product right into growing a conscious and treating you right (nice thought, huh?).
Opportunities to be inspired about parties are everywhere. Yet, people looking out for your wallet are few and far between. My goal is to inspire you, causing you to question the way things are that have been the status quo for too long. When we stand together and speak up, we can be a powerful force.
Let's keep the conversation of change going. Because in the sea of everyone talking, one voice is a whisper... several voices are a scream.
Leave a comment and share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions below. Remember to be as specific as possible because what you have to say helps us all.
Always... be encouraged and encourage others too,
