Fire Tech I – EMT Basic – Minimum $12.05/hr
Fire Tech II – EMT Basic & Paramedic Apprentice – Minimum $13.24/hr
Fire Tech III – Certified Paramedic – Minimum $14.62/hr
- 3% annual merit raises based on performance

Department Information: The Westerville Division of Fire serves this community and the community of Blendon Township with immediate and professional response to all types of safety emergencies. Our mission is to minimize property damage, suffering, and loss of life resulting from fire, medical, and environmental emergencies throughout the Westerville community. We seek to accomplish this mission through community awareness, public education, effective Code management, and swift incident response. It is our continuing goal to develop innovative safety response protocols that offer cost effective services to meet the needs of our growing community while serving to advance the quality of our profession.

Fire Tech III – Certified Paramedic – Must have current Ohio Fire Fighter II certificate and be certified Paramedic by the State of Ohio.

After the written examination has been successfully completed, candidates will proceed through the selection process in the following order:- Physical Abilities Test to be done in Westerville
- Oral Board interviewing process
- Fingerprinting and background checking
- Physical, drug screen, psychological exam
The top 30 scoring candidates will be asked to participate in the selection process first. Candidates who do not place in the top 30 after the written test, will be held in abeyance until needed.
