Parliamentary Committee Fails, ECP to Appoint Caretaker PM

Parliamentary CommitteeThe Parliamentary Committee constituted to appoint a caretaker prime minister failed to reach consensus. Election Commission of Pakistan.(ECP) will now appoint the interim premier within two days.

Speaking to media following the inconclusive final meeting of Committee, Khursheed Shah said the political leadership had got the opportunity to make the political decision but unfortunately they failed t reach consensus.

Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, another member of committee said both government and opposition talked seriously and tried their best to reach the consensus but they failed to reach a decision.

Khawaja Saad Rafique, also of PML-N said the failure to reach a final decision is not the failure of politicians.

Former law minister Farooq H Naek said it was the first experience to appoint caretaker setup after the espousal of 18th constitutional amendment.

He said the committee  talked in a good environment and toiled for three days, adding the committee should have a right to include more names for deliberations.
