Today marks one year of Fairly Light. I really can’t believe it’s been a whole twelve months since my first post.

I had toyed with the idea of starting a blog for some time, buying the Fairly Light domain nearly a year before. As an avid blog reader I felt it was a bit cheeky to absorb so much content and inspiration and not attempt to give anything back. I realised that if I ever wanted to be pursue my passion for all things decor, I needed to make the move to be a blogger, rather than just a reader.
Within six months of starting Fairly Light, I was offered an incredible opportunity to become a Styling Assistant for the Rock My Wedding team as well as helping out with their social media.
One year on and there’s been nearly one hundred posts, one Decor8 blog course, five RMW styled editorials and a home tour.
At times I feel that I’ve bitten off more than I chew as juggling my part time interests with a full time career can be very demanding!
My family and friends have been incredibly supportive and I am so grateful to you – the small yet loyal readership that I have been able to build.
Without a doubt there is no way that I would have been able to do it all without the endless encouragement, hot dinners and support of my husband. (Thanks Mr C!)
The next twelve months are to be filled with top secret, exciting projects that I can’t wait to share with you but for now I leave you with a completely new blog design. I am now the very proud owner of a header and footer! I am very lucky to have a very talented graphic designer brother-in-law and a very skilled web developer for a husband who have put in so much effort to get the site up and running.
