One Woman Comedy Sketch

By Chooksandroots @chooksandroots

This post isn’t really about gardening, as it’s all pretty much ground to a halt out there. The beans have well and truly finished and have been whipped out, leaving clean empty spaces in the veg patch.

I’m having some work done on the house at the moment, so the garden has turned into a bit of a building site, having piles of materials, wood and ladders all over the place.  And that’s only the mess in the garden… the house is another story! The after clean-up should be interesting to say the least :-)

Life has gone a bit bonkers at the moment, which is why this blog has been sadly neglected… As well as the work on the house, I’m juggling work, decorating, newly found social life and new man on the scene…. life is hectic but in a good way.

This week I’ve been in Scotland with work, acting all professional, swanning around in my smart clothes, and holding sage conversations about worky stuff. By direct contrast, my personal life has been like a one woman disaster area…

Last night I decided to take advantage of the hotel pool and leisure facilities. A quick 20 lengths, followed by a blob in the Jacuzzi and a sauna seemed like the ideal way to unwind after a busy day at a conference.

All was going swimmingly, until I needed the loo after my sauna. Heading back to the changing room, there was no sign of the Ladies, so I headed through the end door.  Just as it shut behind me, I realised I’d gone through one door too many, and I was, in fact, locked out in the corridor dressed only in my swimsuit.

Oh, the shame! The only way out of the leisure bit of the hotel was directly through reception. This in itself would be a pointless exercise, as my clothes and room key were firmly locked in the changing room. There was nothing for it but to skulk about in the corridor until someone turned up who could let me back in.

After a good ten minutes lurking about in the cold, I heard movement from behind the locked door, and a frantic knock later, the door was opened and I was reunited with my clothes and my dignity.

Honestly, I’m like a walking comedy sketch sometimes…
