One Direction

I was given this opportunity via Brand Backer to test the products from One Direction. All opinions are my own.    As much as I love makeup, I have always resorted to my time-honored color palette. Classic reds and pinks for the lips, browns and earthy tones for the eyes have always been my safe bet. Initially when I read about this limited edition makeup line created by Markwins beauty UK , I was a bit skeptical of the bold colors,  specially the colored mascaras, but when I received the products I couldn't wait no longer to try my hands on them. And I have to admit that after the first application, my entire perspective towards bold colored makeup has made a complete volte-face. Not only did I enjoy these, I even stepped out with the pink mascara on and returned without getting any obnoxious glares from passers-by.            Verdict passed- they are a must try by every daring beauty person !

PRODUCTS:-  Now talking about the individual products, I would like to talk about the lip glosses first.  They are popularly known as the LIQUILIGHTS GLOW GLOSS.- The Liquilights Glow Gloss  (LGG ) sparkles brilliantly during the day and illuminates under UV black light after dark. Enriched with natural oils and vitamin E to keep your lips soft and hydrated all day and all night. LGG  can be worn alone for a pop of sparkle and color or paired over a lipstick.  My personal remarks -  Flavorless, odorless ( a plus ) and a smooth application. Removes easily without staining the lips. I thought the glitter content was a tad bit too much for everyday use but overall the product does justice to it's name.

• Through the Dark- Electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light
•  Kiss You- Orange glitter rush lip gloss that glows to neon yellow under UV light
• Taken - Powerhouse glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon orange under UV light

      These colored mascaras are called the ELECTRO GLAM MASCARA- Give your look a jolt of electric color, with this limited-edition trio of ultra-bold colored mascaras, in three heavily pigmented, buildable colors. Use them for LASHES- Make a subtle statement by adding a pop of color to the tips of your lashes, or add coats to your entire lashes for a shockingly chic look. The more the better! I used them to get the ombre effect on the lashes.  Use them as a HAIR MASCARA- Apply to small sections of hair and swipe through for instant ELECTRIC highlights. My personal remarks- Very smooth, no lash clumping. The pink and blue are pretty wearable, specially for hair-streaking,  but it would take a lot of guts at my end to try the yellow.

The last set of products, my favorite of the bunch, is called  the  ROCK ME NAIL KIT -  This kit features 3 NEON UV-REACTIVE Nail Varnish and  3 UV-REACTIVE GLITTER nail toppings that will add even more sizzle to any  mani. Sprinkle the glitter over wet polish for a subtle accent, or go for the glitz and dip your entire wet mani in mega-watt sparkle!
My personal remarks - This kit is nothing but FUN. The colors are bright, vibrant and totally party ready. The glitters in three different colors gives you options of mixing and matching to create multiple looks. The only con, the nail varnishes needed a couple of repeated application to bring out  the real color.
