Olympic Winners: Nail Edition

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
I'm here with the final installment of this week's Olympic winners series and of course I've saved the best till last, nails! As a nail polish junkie I couldn't leave them out when going through categories of favourites and although I thought it would be a difficult decision at first, I was already pretty set on my current (and overall summer) favourites. The gold medal won't be a surprise as it is my absolute favorite and I can't see that changing anytime soon, although the other two did require a bit more thinking. I really hope you have enjoyed this little series on my blog this week and thank you for all your lovely comments throughout!
Olympic winners: Nail edition
So firstly taking bronze is the gorgeous Technic Carnival nail polish which has become my go-to polish when I want to jazz up my nails a bit. The large pieces of multicolour glitter create a lovely effect on the nails no matter what you are wearing underneath and it doesn't take too long to create an opaque finish if that is what you're after.
Coming in second place is Models Own Lemon Meringue which in my opinion is the perfect lemon color for nails as it is just pale enough without making your hands look dead (definitely not a good look especially for super pale skin). It always cheers me right up when I have it on my nails and it is probably the polish that has received the most compliments when I've been out and about.
And finally.. taking gold is my beloved Essie Van D'Go which has been my favorite since the day I bought it. I was always on the lookout for a pinky peach toned polish as I only seemed to own more orange tones but I'm so glad I went for Van D'Go as it is the perfect example of a pinky peach. I think this color is so flattering and after seeing swatches online I can only assume that it would look lovely no matter what skin tone.
