Olivia Wilde Engagement Ring Pics!

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

Amid the flurry of Golden Globe excitement yesterday, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis announced their engagement! The SNL star and actress have been dating for about a year and got engaged over the holidays. The two have both been previously married (Sudeikis to an SNL writer and actress, Wilde to an Italian prince/musician type), but are hoping the 2nd time around is the charm. The couple stepped out yesterday and we caught a blurry first glimpse of the first Olivia Wilde engagement ring pics from E!

Ok, we know – this picture is less than stellar. But until we can get a nice shot of Olivia’s ring, let’s wildly speculate! It looks like a vintage inspired (or even better, true vintage) ring. A thick shank of white gold or platinum looks unadorned besides a big old bezel set center stone. The yellow gold bezel marks another celeb (like Miley Cyrus and Blake Lively before her) to rock a metal other than platinum or white gold.

This distance shot gives us an idea of the presence the ring has on her hand – it looks like it’s over 4 carats. However, these pictures definitely have us wondering if Olivia’s center stone is even a diamond. There’s absolutely no fire in any of these photos – which doesn’t rule out the possibility of a diamond (fire, like most of a diamond’s beauty is notoriously hard to capture on camera). However a stone this big (and gifted by a very talented and successful comedian) is likely high quality; if it is a diamond, it should be sparkling. Plus, doesn’t Olivia seem like the type to go for an alternative engagement ring? She’s already had the fairy princess marriage and ring (literally), and the setting is definitely different. Could be that she’s rocking a big oval shaped moonstone or opal. Of course, it could just be a rainy day and that is, indeed, a big diamond. You know we’ll keep you updated!
