Did you know that most housing stock in the Twin Cities is over 50 years old? To help educate agents about older homes so common in our area, the Presevation Alliance of Minnesota has developed a new 2-day that results in an Old Home Certified Designation.
John and I attended the class a couple weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it! His undergrad degree in architecture didn't hurt... he also worked on an architectural survey of Fargo-Moorhead years ago when he was in school. I have also always loved architecture. As in music, my favorite styles are 'old'... and 'modern'.
This class featured experts on different topics, including:
- Why old homes are GREEN
- Understanding historic districts and designations
- House styles and vocabulary
- Finding old home contractors
- Researching old homes
- Historic preservation
- Who built the Twin Cities and how
